Solutions Director - Strategic Bids & Tenders
We are seeking an experienced, tenacious, and quality-driven professional to lead our end-to-end tendering function with vision and impact. This is a high-profile role with full ownership of tender strategy and execution, designed for someone who thrives on delivering winning proposals that are both commercially compelling and strategically aligned.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Lead and evolve the organisation’s tendering strategy across all business units.
- Align bid activity with overarching business growth objectives and brand positioning.
Opportunity Management
- Implement a rigorous bid/no-bid framework to prioritise high-value, winnable opportunities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess strategic fit and commercial viability.
Bid Development
- Oversee the development and submission of high-quality, compliant, and persuasive tenders.
- Instil a culture of tailored, solution-led bidding, ensuring every major submission has a bespoke win strategy.
- Coordinate cross-functional input and ensure timelines, quality, and governance are consistently met.
Knowledge & Commercial Oversight
- Maintain a best-in-class Knowledge Library to support bid efficiency and consistency.
- Ensure accurate financial modelling and alignment with operational deliverability in partnership with Finance and Delivery teams.
Governance & Performance
- Establish and refine bid governance frameworks, templates, and continuous improvement cycles.
- Lead post-submission reviews to capture insights and drive up future success rates.
- Partner with commercial leaders to refresh value propositions and tailor solutions by sector or client type.
What You’ll Bring
- A proven track record in leading successful end-to-end tendering for high-value, strategic contracts across various industries.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to craft compelling, client-centric solutions in collaboration with internal teams.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building experience, skilled in developing high-performing bid and proposal functions.
- Clear, persuasive communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- High attention to detail and a strong grasp of compliance, governance, and quality assurance in a complex, fast-paced environment.
- Strong data literacy, able to drive improvements and accountability through insights and metrics.
- Demonstrated success in shaping and executing winning strategies for large, complex proposals.
Professional Requirements
- Full driving license.
- A verifiable five-year employment history, including references, credit, and right-to-work checks.
- Relevant industry qualifications (desirable but not essential).
